- Volunteering OPTIONS: You may part-time volunteer along with teaching & recreation!
- Emergency Medicine - Train & ride along with professional paramedics - 12-hr shifts for 4 days per week
- Childcare for Children of Sex Workers - Assist in areas of childcare, education, health & wellbeing, recreation & leisure, housekeeping/maintenance, meal preparation & nutrition.
- Youth Home for Girls - Assist in areas of education, mentorship, physical fitness, counseling.
- Homeless Shelter for the Elderly - Assist in areas of health & wellbeing, recreation & leisure, housekeeping/maintenance, meal preparation & nutrition.
- Dog Haven & Veterinarian Assistant - Animal healthcare, animal shelter management.
- Lake Habitat for Migratory Birds - Environmental science, habitat reconstruction, bird watching, recreation & leisure
- Teacher - Assist Teach or Teach in any subject and grade(s) of your choice; part-time or full-time.
- Sports & Fitness - Assist Coach or Coach in any sports/games and age groups of our choice, part-time or full-time.
- Visual Arts - Assist or Lead in community arts projects of murals, workshops, etc Share your skills & teach others.
- Special Needs Community - Assist professional staff in caring for individuals with special needs in our communities.
- Community Health - Participate in providing healthcare at free medical clinics for refugees & homeless, support rural medical clinics, and shadow professional nurses & doctors at hospital(s). Must be experienced healthcare professional.
- Community Beautification & Renovations - Participate in group projects or perform individual projects to renovate or beautify a community or nonprofit organization's physical spaces..
Why does Minga offer this English Teacher Onboard Program?
- We want Minga Teachers to feel comfortable in making their decision to teach in Colombia as well as be well prepared to perform their best as educators; time & space to complete needed TEFL certification also available.
- Because we are already compensated by the employers, not by the teachers. Therefore, we can afford to charge teachers half the normal cost of volunteering (30,000 COP per day).
- We are a national provider of English teachers for private schools, local & state & federal governments. We need a steady flow of many more additional inbound teachers to Colombia. We hope this onboarding program makes it easier for teachers to choose working with Minga House Foundation. We need you!
- We are committed to building a long-term relationship with our teachers and our schools as an affordable & the best industry solution provider.
- International teachers need a place to call 'Home;" especially in-between contracts. We want our teachers to know they can come stay at Minga House very affordably while we help them find their next contract whether it is in Colombia or elsewhere such as China, Ecuador, Chile.

Legal Entry to Colombia: If your home country does not have a relationship with Colombia which would allow you to normally come into Colombia as a Tourist, then you will need to formally apply for a VISA. Colombia charges an application fee of $285 USD, plus Minga House will charge you an additional $200 USD to help you with the application process. There is no guarantee that your VISA will be approved. These expenses would be non-refundable also.

If the answer is "Yes," then you can participate with our Teacher Onboarding Program easily by simply obtaining an "Invitation to Volunteer" letter from Minga House Foundation so you can obtain the PIP6 stamp on your passport permitting you to formally volunteer up to six months.

If you have not yet arrived to Colombia or are already inside Colombia as a tourist, then you must request an "Invitation to volunteer" letter from Minga House Foundation to obtain a “Permiso de Permanencia PIP 6” stamp on your passport. Tourists may not participate legally in any formal volunteering program, anywhere. Violating this Colombian policy may result in a heavy fine and deportation.

If you already established either permanent or temporary residency in Colombia, you will have no problems participating in our program. Simply provide Minga a copy of your Visa or Cedula.
