Enter your TOP 3 Preferences of where you would enjoy teaching most.
Your preferences will help program managers make placement decisions, but ultimately we need you to be flexible and in a 'service mindset' ready to teach wherever you are needed most by the Ministerio de Educacion. Your preferences are not guaranteed.

Program Managers also grant seniority to fellows who have previously participated in the program, who have existing apartment leases or family-ties in communities, and who are requested back by their school principals.

- You are responsible for your initial transportation costs 'to the orientation in Bogota.' Then, the program will fly you to your teaching destination upon completing orientation and offer to fly you back to Bogota once your teaching contract is completed (optional). After completing the contract, the program is neither responsible for your return to your home country, nor responsible for you legal status in Colombia.
PROOF of RETURN FLIGHT is REQUIRED to enter COLOMBIA: You show that you will leave the country during your legal stay period. Meaning, you will not be permitted to enter Colombia without proof that you have a planned exit/return.
OPTION: If you do not plan to purchase round-trip tickets, this option often used by experienced global travelers
Refundable Return Bus/Air Tickets - Download Option Details - Colombian airport officials will require proof that you are exiting Colombia prior to your legal stay expiration date. For instance, if you are entering as a Tourist, you must show that you are exiting within 90 days. Make sense? If you are entering as a Fellow with a Courtesy VISA, then you will have to show you are leaving prior to the expiration of your Courtesy VISA. Remember, you are responsible for your legal stay in Colombia. Be sure to follow every legal responsibility you hold as a visitor, volunteer, and fellow. If you do not have round-trip flight tickets to prove that you are going to leave while still legal in Colombia, you will have to show them proof that you are exiting the country somehow. Your choice, your decision. |
